Psychiatry Job in North Chicago Suburbs (Between Chicago & Milwaukee) Employed SettingSix other Psychiatrists on staff that cover inpatient unit.Call Coverage Provided.Mix of Inpatient / Outpatient Care.Reason for search: replacement. Practice is six years old.Office Space provided - there are two office locations for outpatient and one for inpatient. The offices are all standard 10x12 for individual and family therapy.The adult Psychiatry unit is staffed by two full-time Psychiatrists that share on-call coverage for admissions and emergencies 2 days a week. The Psychiatrists also cover an average of one weekend per month. There are 2 independent Psychiatrists on the medical staff who have been assisting with call-coverage for years. Both of these Psychiatrists have 'grandfather' status so they have no requirement or obligation to take call. In the past month, both grandfather status Psychiatrists have reported that they no longer want to cover on-call hours for the department. The weekend on-call cannot be covered by the current 2 Psychiatrists as they already work full-time hours during the week. Further, one of the two employed Psychiatrists also provides coverage for adults in the partial hospital and intensive outpatient program. That program is averaging 20-25 active patients. This is a high volume for one Psychiatrist and with an additional Psychiatrist, there is a greater opportunity for higher volume and growth. Further, there is opportunity for office based Psychiatric services.
