Job Title: Mascot Performer
Date: January 2025 through end of 2024-2025 season (as late as May 2025)
Department: Production/Fan Experience
Reports to: Manager, Fan Experience
Compensation: The budgeted rate for this role is $20 per hour.
Hours: This is a part-time role. Total hours worked will not average more than 20-24 hours per week.

The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will perform the role for select games during the season as our regular mascot performer. They will help take the Chicago Steel in-game experience to a new level. They will possess the ability to entertain fans throughout the game with energy and professionalism. We pride ourselves on providing top-tier entertainment and engaging content to our fanbase.
The Top Shelf:
The individual will be responsible for entertaining and interacting with fans during select home games, special events and community/school appearances.
How You'll Contribute:
Have high energy to provide the maximum enjoyment to fans as Rusty.
Maintain the integrity of the mascot including mannerisms, body language, attitude, and team representation at all times.
Sign autographs and take photos with fans.
Participate in pre-game, in-game and post game entertainment.
Work well in a team environment.
Assist in the coordination and execution of mascot event activations.
Player Stats and Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Able to provide own transportation
Minimum 1-year experience as a performer/entertainer.
Positive attitude and a love of children.
Must be comfortable carefully walking on ice for in-game promotions.
Ability to excite, engage and entertain a crowd.
The Team:
The Chicago Steel, members of the United States Hockey League (USHL), are celebrating their 24th season and are one of the most decorated junior hockey teams in the world in recent years.
Over the past eight seasons, the Steel are the winningest franchise in the USHL and during that time, the Steel have won two Clark Cup Championships (2017 and 2021), two Anderson Cup Championships (regular season titles), and three conference championships. Since the inaugural 2000-2001 season, 56 players with Steel ties have been selected in the NHL Draft with 28 of those selections coming in the last five drafts and over 330 players have advanced to NCAA Division 1 teams.
Off the ice, the Steel boasts a vibrant, aspirational staff dedicated to continued attendance growth built on providing an outstanding fan experience.
