The provider is expected to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, treating patients with eating disorders and related or comorbid medical conditions. The provider will serve patients in a gender-inclusive environment of all ages and across all levels of care. The Family Practice Nurse Practitioner is encouraged to participate in quality and performance improvement activities.ScheduleFull Time 0.8 FTE Position4 Shifts per weekHours 8:00 am-4:00 pmDays assigned based on department needsHow Family Nurse Practitioners Empower RecoveryProvide direct medical services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including appropriate exams, work-up and prescription medications, and other interventions as indicated.Evaluate, diagnose, and treat medical complications of eating disorders and intercurrent conditions for patients at all levels of care. The frequency of visits should be dictated by clinical need, and facilitate appropriate medical care for the clinical severity and in accordance with direction from site medical leadership.Develop the medical treatment plans of all assigned patients and update them with each visitLiaise by telephone with each patient's ambulatory provider, at a minimum, at admission, discharge, and as needed during treatment in the context of significant concerns.Liaise with families of patients as indicatedEvaluate all patients on caseload within two weeks of discharge, to assess stability for the next level of care, and to complete a summary of all follow-up recommendations and a comprehensive discharge summary.Work with the Utilization Review team to provide medical information to support the facilitation of peer-to-peer insurance reviews, determination of appropriate levels of care, arbitration of clinical appeals, etc.Provide education about medical complications and comorbidities of eating disorders to family and patients as needed.Perform other duties as assigned or identifiedQualificationsDuly certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, by appropriate national certifying body and state licensing agencyAppropriate State Licensure to practice independently in the field, with prescriptive authorityTwo (2) or more years of practice, with a preference for experience in hospital settings, work with complex medical conditions, and/or prior experience working with psychiatric patients.What we offer:Employee BenefitsWe understand the importance of a well-rounded benefits package.
