Description The Insurance Verification Specialist is a dynamic role that includes support in administrative support and insurance verification. The individual in this role is primarily responsible for the timely verification of medical insurance benefits. The Insurance Verification Specialist works under direct supervision to ensure that data is captured and filed in a timely and accurate manner.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: - Timely verification of medical insurance benefits
- Calling private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid to obtain benefit information
- Determining insurance compatibility with healthcare provider programs
- Update and refile claims as needed
- Coordinate with patients regarding their insurance benefits and medical providers programs
- Re-verify existing patient insurance coverage as needed
- Determine if an insurance benefit plan considers selected products appropriate based on patient need
- Additional duties as necessary to ensure the proper verification of medical insurance for patient accounts
- Other duties as assigned
