Job Description
Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse - Medical Specialist
Job Specialty: RN Registered / Licensed - Outpatient
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours:
Experience: Experience with direct patient care preferred; additional specialty experience may be required
License: Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required (from the American Heart Association prior to hire date); ACLS/PALS may be required in some practice areas
Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and speak English; basic computer skills; strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to function in a fast-paced environment; excellent time management skills; strong critical thinking skills; preferably with Epic experience
Job Description:
- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice.
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that reflects an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods to update and focus on patient goals in the plan of care.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting an inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration to promote the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Participate and support performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
- Complete all professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, modeling the professional practice of nursing.
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.
- Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice.
- Plan proactively for patient care across the care continuum and develop protocols and procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all health system policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
- Complete clinical tasks such as in-basket messages, patient advisement, administering injections/vaccines, drawing blood, POCT, processing medication prior authorizations, phone triage, clinical message taking, charting in EMR, and using medical terminology.
- Wear professional scrubs in navy and white solid colors.
Note: National certification in the area of specialty is preferred.
