OVERVIEW:
This position of Hot Mill Roll Shop Operator is responsible for all operating functions as listed below. Operation of the Hot Mill Roll Grinder unit must be understood in total with focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. The primary responsibilities of this position are outlined below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Load/Unload rolls from Roughing Mill and Finishing Mill Buggy Carts.
2. Load/Unload rolls from Chock Changers.
3. Load/Unload all Roll Grinders.
4. Loading scrap rolls onto trucks, Unloading new rolls from trucks.
5. Move all rolls (including scrap rolls) to designated area.
6. Move Grinding wheels to designated area.
7. Assist with machine change over as required.
8. Assist with set up and changing out grinding wheels as required.
9. Housekeeping/maintenance work as assigned.
10. Follow all prescribed safety rules.
11. Perform all other jobs as assigned.
12. To qualify for top out pay the operator must be able to operate roll grinder 1 and roll grinder 2
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EDUCATION:
Minimum of High School Degree or Equivalent (GED) required. Must also possess basic computer skills and strong communication skills.
