Role Overview : As a
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Lady Lake Specialty Center, you will be a key part of our
in-house therapy team , responsible for providing individualized therapy to help residents recover their
speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive functions . You will work directly with residents to help them regain independence in communication and swallowing, improving their quality of life. This position offers an opportunity to work in a

Key Responsibilities : - Develop and Implement Treatment Plans : Assess residents' speech, language, and cognitive functions, and create personalized therapy plans to address their individual needs.
- Swallowing Therapy : Work with residents to improve swallowing function, collaborating with the dietary team to ensure safe eating and drinking for patients with swallowing difficulties.
- Communication Rehabilitation : Provide therapies to improve speech, language, and cognitive abilities, including training in alternative communication methods such as sign language, lip reading, and voice enhancement techniques.
- Patient and Family Education : Educate residents and their families on communication strategies, coping mechanisms, and ways to prevent misunderstandings or frustration.
- Documentation and Reporting : Keep accurate records of therapy progress, treatment plans, and adjust as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaboration : Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff to ensure a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to resident care.
Qualifications : - Current Speech Language Pathologist License in the state of Florida
- Current CPR Certification
- Preferred Experience : At least one (1) year of experience in Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation, though Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants are welcome to apply
- Exceptional Patient Service Skills with a commitment to providing high-quality care
- Passion for Post-Acute Rehabilitation and helping the older adult population regain independence
- Strong Communication Skills : Ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and other healthcare professionals
