As a CNC Machinist you will be responsible for working together with the team to manufacture low to medium quantity surgical instruments using 5-Axis milling machines and other CNC machines. The opportunities range from learning on conversational mills and lathes all the way to programming and operating high-end automated 5-Axis milling machines.
What you'll do
- CNC Machining: Efficiently operate a lathe, 3-Axis mill, and/or 5-Axis mill to machine parts.
- CNC Setup and Operation: Follow a setup sheet or look at a program on CAM and set up a job.
- Evaluate a part and come up with a plan to effectively make it
- Experience with HAAS, TRAK, or Heidenhain is a plus.
- CNC Programming: Program 5-Axis milling machines with CAM software such as Fusion 360
- Inspecting your work and adjusting tool and machine offsets to make sure the parts are correct.
- Cutting tool and toolpath knowledge: You may be given the opportunity to push the limits of current cutting tool technology.
What you need to thrive in this role - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience operating and setting up CNC Mills or Lathes (CNC lathe, 3-Axis mill, and/or 5-Axis mill).
- CNC Programming experience preferred (BUT NOT NECESSARY).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred.
- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to anticipate, think ahead and plan.
- Ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills.
