This is a full-time position with an open academic rank, offering opportunities for clinical practice, research, and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to providing high-quality patient care, educating the next generation of medical professionals, and advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgical care, focusing on supporting the needs of the general surgery, trauma, and surgical oncology services.Perform breast reconstruction and other reconstructive procedures as part of the surgical oncology service.Develop and maintain an outpatient presence at a new ambulatory surgery center, supporting the clinical mission of UTRGV.Actively participate in the education and training of medical students and residents, including supervising surgical procedures and leading didactic sessions.Engage in scholarly activity, including clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and academic publications.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and contribute to the growth of the surgical services program.Minimum QualificationsMust be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and/or General Surgery. Must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License. Demonstration of strong commitment to teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to patient care.Discipline Specific Required QualificationsAcademic experience and evidence of scholarly activity are preferred but not required. Fellowship training in plastic and reconstructive surgery is highly desirable.Preferred QualificationsLicense or Certification Required?
