Job Description and Responsibilities:

Willow Valley Communities is hiring a Wellness Nurse to be responsible for coordinating nursing services within the nurse practitioner's office. Performs clinical duties within the office and offers administrative support. Responsible to coordinate the day-to-day functions and communications within the nurse practitioner's office.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates completion of daily clinical activities within the practice.
  • Clinical: administer treatments, immunizations, diagnostic testing, venipuncture, point of care testing, Team Member drug screening, and other healthcare tasks.
  • Reviews lab and other diagnostic results, documents appropriate details, then notifies the nurse practitioner, outside physician, or Resident of the results as needed.
  • Triage Residents to receive health care services, responding appropriately to healthcare needs within the office.
  • Residents clinical check in: obtain relevant health information, obtain vital signs, perform diagnostic testing, gather other appropriate health observations in preparation for the NP assessment. Assist Residents with transfers between surfaces.
  • Document required, relevant, and accurate information in the electronic health record.
  • Conducts office hours as determined by the nurse practitioner.
  • Immunizations: Monitor proper storage of vaccine, and other medication. Complete the required quality assurance documentation for refrigeration. Coordinate and assist with vaccine administration and observation. Verify completion of all required documentation.
  • Assist with clerical: Front desk reception, answer phones, day to day clerical activities, data entry, scheduling appointments according to Resident needs, staff scheduling. Providing excellent customer service at every opportunity. Verify insurance eligibility.
  • Assist to ensure consistency in all operations, policies and procedures. Identifies areas of inconsistency and discusses them with the nurse practitioner.
  • Maintains effective communication and cooperates with Residents, Guests, Team Members, the nurse practitioner, and others as appropriate. Addresses Resident concerns and/or directs questions to the appropriate person for response.
  • Assists to create and present educational and wellness programs to a variety of audiences.
  • Develops useful reports as assigned. Coordinates quality improvement projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of activities within the wellness office, reporting observations to the nurse practitioner as appropriate. Ability to provide immediate coaching for safety during activities conducted within the wellness office.

Qualifications:

  • Active PA LPN license
  • Maintain confidentiality, good judgment and discretion.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License and have vehicle to arrive at various work sites within WVC campuses.
  • One year clinical experience preferred.
  • Ability to navigate websites and submit required data to government authorities.
  • Ability to operate email system, Microsoft Office Suite, and management software (PCC, Matrix, NextGen, Kronos)
  • Would consider an experienced Certified Medical Assistant

Hours:

  • 40 hours/week

Schedule:

  • 8:30am-6:00pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-12:30pm Friday
