Job Description:Certified Registered Nurse AnesthetistAdministers local, inhalation, intravenous, regional, neuraxial, and other anesthetics that the CRNA is qualified to perform to induce total or partial loss of sensation or consciousness in patients during surgery, deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. Work primarily in an anesthesia care team (ACT) model and enjoy a high degree of autonomy. The case mix is broad and includes trauma, cardiac, thoracic, vascular, neuro, general, ortho, plastics, ENT, Dental, urology, GI, limited pediatrics, gynecology, and obstetrics.Job RequirementsGraduate from an approved school of nursing and hold a current RN license in the state of Pennsylvania. Satisfactory completion of a course of training in an accredited school of Nurse Anesthesia fully recognized by the American Association of Nursing Anesthetist.National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) Certified. Healthcare Provider (BLS) Certification at hire date. ACLS Certification within 12 months of hire.Job DutiesComplies with hospital policies and procedures, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, or local laws and regulations.Perform to the full scope of their practice including regional anesthesia which the practitioner is competent to administer.Use knowledge and skills to provide their services for a level 2 trauma program.Covers in-house call when neededResponds to codes and provides airway management per hospital policy.Works with the anesthesiologist to select appropriate anesthetic agent and technique and will be responsible for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia and analgesia during the intra-operative course, including endotracheal intubation and extubation, management of blood or fluid, electrolyte loss and replacement, and maintenance of cardiovascular and respiratory functions.Complete training and be competent in arterial lines, central lines, sub-arachnoid blocks, epidurals, and peripheral nerve blocks.Work under the supervision of an endoscopist in an off-site GI suite and perform pre- and post-anesthesia evaluation and care.Accurately documents and maintains anesthesia records.Sign-On Bonus and Loan ForgivenessRequired Skills:• Surgery• Codes• Nursing• Healthcare• Deliveries• Regulations• Records• Maintenance• Training• Management
