Job Description

The Electronics Technician II operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and devices related to all aspects of radar, to include transmitters, receivers servo systems, mixers and switches, amplifiers, and wiring.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations.
Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments.
Receives technical guidance as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
Position requires shift work including weekends and holidays.
Other Related Duties:
May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in electronics or completion of a formal electronics training program in an accredited commercial or military school.
At least four years of experience operating and maintaining electronic equipment.
Core Competencies:
Ability to carry out job requirements with limited supervision.
Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to perform and maintain related technical/administrative additional duties.
Ability to perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, moderate lifting (45 pounds) and climbing.
A basic familiarity with Windows software is required.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid California driver's license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:
Typical environment to included working outdoors on elevated heights, remote work areas, attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. Ability to travel as required by the Company.
