The Department of Pediatrics at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children s Medical Center of New York is seeking board eligible/board certified General Pediatricians to practice in the Fast Track area of our Emergency Department at CCMC . We are looking for competent clinicians to provide thoughtful and timely patient care to our growing pediatric community. We currently have two opportunities available: a full-time opportunity and a unique opportunity to work full-time during school months to help with the volume.Our PEM team consists of 33 attendings, 9 fellows, and 6 advance care providers. We are located on the Queens and Nassau County border, in close proximity to Manhattan. The department layout includes 33 individual patient exam rooms and 2 critical care/trauma bays. We are the busiest American College of Surgeons Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in NY state, with an annual volume of approximately 70,000 visits. We have a dedicated behavioral health area, as well as a behavioral health urgicenter. Our highly skilled nursing staff recently received the highest ranking in Magnet designation and were recipients of the Lantern award from the Emergency Nurse s Association. Among our staff are experts in Global Health, Child Abuse, Ultrasound, Emergency Management, Pediatric Transport, Trauma, Quality, Advocacy/Gun Violence Prevention, and Research.Cohen Children s Medical Center opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area s only hospital designed exclusively for children.
