SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Install, configure and maintain network hardware, software, and telecommunications systems.
- Monitor network performance to ensure optimal network uptime and troubleshoot network problems when they occur.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as data backups and system upgrades.
- Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
- Monitor network traffic to identify and mitigate security threats.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize network downtime.
- Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization's network infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in network technology and recommend upgrades to keep pace with changing requirements.
- Provide technical support to end-users and assist with network-related issues.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS) - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Experience in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network-related problems.
- Familiarity with Fortinet and Cisco technology
- Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Some travel required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
