Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Writer to join a large PBM client. This individual will be responsible for helping the operational areas of the organization understand the impacts of moving to a new claims processing platform. They will help document the new processes and instructions for the new processes. This individual will ideally have experience with SharePoint and/or Confluence.
Other responsibilities include writing standards, guidelines, and best practices to create and update complex documentation and process flows. This position works with business area subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure the content is accurate, meets the needs of the SME and is easy to understand.
Develop a thorough knowledge of products, services, processes, and tools in order to translate information received into easy-to-understand content
Create, update, and archive complex documentation and process flows in accordance with writing standards and business practices
May act as lead technical writer on requests/projects
Collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members, SMEs, and leadership to support accuracy.

The main function of the technical writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files. Job Responsibilities: Review and approve material for standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology. Review and approve edits or changes made to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel. Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication. Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction and binding. Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.

Required Skills & Experience
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree required. 8-10 years experience required.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Strong knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Strong knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
Strong knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
- Strong knowledge of computer software, such as Adobe, JavaScript, Oracle, etc.
