Description Job Summary: The Senior Survey CAD Technician assists an RPLS in the analysis of boundary and topographic surveys.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: - Performs deed research and prepares deed sketches.
- Performs daily processing of survey field crew data.
- Prepares maps for boundary and topographic surveys.
- Prepares metes and bounds descriptions.
- Performs QA/QC on plats and other work.
- Coordinates with field crews and office personnel.
- Ensures schedules, deliverables and budgets are met.
- Maintains company standards for processes of work.
- Additional duties as required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities: - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
- Efficient use of time and resources to provide quality design solutions and accurate project data.
Work Environment: - Work predominantly operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
- Work may occasionally be conducted at landfills, construction sites, etc.
Education, certification and experience: - Five to eight years of experience under the supervision of an RPLS.
- S.I.T. certification desired.
Physical Requirements: - This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate both orally and in writing to share progress and ideas with personnel.
- The employee is regularly required to move about the office to utilize professional office equipment such as computers and design software, printers, scanners, computer, and more.
- May require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
