Description
Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Illinois, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our growing team. The BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that support strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency across the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand their data needs, creating intuitive reports from a number of information systems, and ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of critical business information, and serving as a consultant to committees requiring expertise with decision support solutions.
Essential Duties
- Data Analysis and Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business requirements. Translate these requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.
- Report Development: Manage report request queue for assigned reporting domains and design and develop timely and high quality reports. Ensure these deliverables meet user requirements and provide actionable insights.
- Tool/Environment Utilization: Maintain expertise with the following BI tools and development environments: SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio or Report Builder, SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel, Manage Engine, Git and Gitlab.
- Data Integration and Management: Integrate data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external systems. Work with vendors to develop custom data extracts and manage automated data exchange.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of BI solutions and the report library and make necessary adjustments to optimize speed and efficiency. Address any issues related to data integrity or system performance.
- Quality Assurance: Actively participate in team code review process and quality assurance projects to ensure good data quality.
- Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including user guides and technical specifications.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with IT and business teams to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure alignment of BI solutions with organizational goals.
- Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. As a salaried professional, you may be expected to work above your FTE on occasion.
Non-essential Duties - Special Projects: Assist with special projects related to data analytics and business intelligence as needed.
- Research and Development: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BI technologies. Propose innovative solutions to enhance data reporting and analysis capabilities. Assist in the strategic planning of department initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Support: Occasionally support other departments with data-related needs or ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Training: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of BI tools.
Requirements
Required Experience - Programming experience (prefer Python, C#, R)
- Understanding of relational databases fundamentals
- SQL proficiency
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Experience - 2-3 years of experience with data or financial analysis, healthcare setting preferred
- Web Development Framework knowledge a plus
- Familiarity with git preferred
Required Licensure/Education - Epic Clarity Data Model certifications expected within 6 months of hire
Preferred Education - Bachelor's degree in Health, Information Technology, or quantitative field (or equivalent experience) preferred
