+ JOB SUMMARY

+ The Student Nurse Intern will provide basic nursing care, as well as previously learned skills, under the supervision of an experienced registered nurse Preceptor. Only those skills listed (and agreed upon by Anderson Nursing Service) on the Intern Program Skills Check-list may be performed when validated by the assigned RN Preceptor. The Student Intern will assume responsibilities with the RN while enrolled in the appropriate elective course as determined by their prospective school of nursing with respect to performance requirements, policies, and procedures of ARMC.

+ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

+ Education/Regulatory Requirements:

+ High School graduate or equivalent

+ Be enrolled in an approved school of nursing program (Affiliation Agreement required) preparing candidates for registered nursing licensure and have successfully completed one academic semester of the nursing program.

+ Be enrolled in an approved Student Nurse Internship course for the current semester.

+ Must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the nursing program.

+ Current in BLS for Healthcare Providers.

+ Failure to meet or comply with the above requires and commitment will result in removal from the program.

+ Skills:

+ Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.
