Why Sentinel? The Sentinel Program, formerly known as Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Program, is an enormous and complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without any doubt, Sentinel is one of the DoD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. It enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project - the weapon system will deploy over a nine-year period beginning in approximately 2026, and remain operational until at least 2075. Sentinel is a career-defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that simply are not available with smaller projects.
Tell me about this job. BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support Sentinel s External Affairs branch as the Sentinel Strategic Communications Lead. This candidate will lead a highly skilled team providing critical program management and strategic messaging expertise. The Strategic Communications section serves as the Sentinel Systems Directorate s focal point for providing targeted communication to internal and external stakeholders within the Air Force, DoD, and Congress. The team is instrumental in documenting and illustrating Program successes and challenges via reports and documents. The candidate will also monitor progress and work across functions and organizations to meet Senior Program Manager and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Program Executive Officer intent. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ 10 years relevant experience; 8 years with a master's degree.
+ Experience supporting military or industry executive-level leaders (e.g. executive officer, CAG/DAG action officer, higher headquarters staff).
+ Demonstrated critical thinking and organizational skills.
+ Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to comprehensively plan, take prompt action and coordinate among many different stakeholders.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Prior experience with DoD Acquisitions Programs and/or weapons systems.
+ Experience with document creation for senior DoD and Congressional leaders.
+ Prior DoD Public Affairs experience.
+ ICBM experience a plus.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
