At Volt, our greatest strength is our people We are seeking a skilled Millwright / Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a chemical manufacturing environment In Hayward, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing our equipment. This role requires a versatile individual with a broad range of skills in industrial maintenance. Our location is conveniently situated just 6 minutes away from Southland Mall. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment. Fix and rebuild pumps (Diaphragm). Perform electrical work as needed. Maintain and repair DI water systems and wastewater systems. Conduct plumbing tasks. Perform welding tasks (a plus). Maintain and repair compressors and/or boilers. Follow directions from and assist the Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance projects. Communicate clearly with the Maintenance Supervisor and Management regarding any issues, concerns, or updates related to maintenance projects. Repair equipment according to work orders and perform preventive maintenance as scheduled. Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the establishment in repair. Tasks may include pipe fitting, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Responsible for maintaining all facility equipment and the maintenance area. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems (65% of the time). Perform production line changeovers (15% of the time). Read blueprints and fabricate (design, cut, weld, thread pipe, etc.) (5% of the time). Maintain maintenance work areas for a safe and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA and 5S standards (5% of the time). Operate a forklift (5% of the time). Follow all safety procedures and complete all required checklists for Lock Out / Block Out, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entries, etc. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English. Experience in machine repair, electrical, and plumbing is required. Proven experience as a millwright or industrial maintenance mechanic. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills. Experience with diaphragm pumps. Basic electrical knowledge. Experience with DI water and wastewater systems (preferred). Plumbing experience. Welding skills (a plus). Experience with compressors and/or boilers (preferred).
