Job Title & Role Description:
The Marketing and Business Development Specialist will join our growing Marketing Team as a brand ambassador at Upward Health. This role will participate in a broad range of marketing functions, including content creation for both patients and customers, video editing, website design, and social media activity. Additionally, the Marketing and Business Development Specialist will assist with business development initiatives to identify and pursue new growth opportunities. This position will be an expert in Upward Health’s message to our patients, partners, and customers. The Marketing Team supports our sales and operations teams with high-quality pieces of content that share the key value drivers of Upward Health. This role will report to the Marketing Manager.
We are looking for a versatile person with both design and writing strengths who is excited about the opportunity to participate in a wide range of marketing activities. Our environment is fast-paced and initiatives grow and change quickly, so a highly motivated and flexible person will do best in this position. Detail orientation and strong writing and communication skills are a must.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage inbound, internal marketing material requests. This may include full creation and/or editing of material
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including lead generation and creation of PowerPoint decks and other materials
- Oversee internal marketing inventory orders for our patient-facing staff
- Edit staff and patient testimonial videos
- Conduct research on business development opportunities to appropriately prepare colleagues with insights and analysis
- Create and/or edit written content to be published on the company’s website, social media, and/or outside publications
- Contribute to our social media presence on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and other pertinent sites for the company, which includes monitoring engagement and interactions on all channels
- Assist in the editing process for monthly email communications to partners, investors, and clients
- Conduct competitive analysis and research to identify market trends and opportunities
- Ensure the company’s website contains current and accurate information and serves as an excellent introduction to potential partners
- Complete other duties as assigned in support of goals and objectives

- Can effectively multitask across many projects with solid organizational skills to prioritize across a diverse range of initiatives and ensure high-priority projects are completed on-time
- Ability to anticipate needs and plan ahead, beginning tasks well in advance to prepare to seize business opportunities

- Flexibility to shift directions quickly as the business requires it, while also wearing multiple hats and assuming responsibilities adjacent to marketing when appropriate
- Keen eye for design to develop pieces that communicate the company’s value proposition in a visually compelling way
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships at multiple levels inside the company and with a wide array of external stakeholders
Competencies:
- At least 2 years of marketing experience with the ability to share examples of personal design content, written materials, and/or social media efforts
- At least 1 year of experience with business development and sales-related work
- Experience in healthcare services is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to travel to various Upward Health geographies as needed
- Proficient with commonly expected, current office applications
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Detail oriented in approach to objectives and associated tasks
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred
