We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll assist our clients in applying for disability benefits such as Social Security and Medicaid, and ensuring their continuing eligibility by providing information and proof of. disability. Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000
Responsibilities: - Apply online and in person for Social Security Disability benefits, and Medicaid for our clients.
- Complete applications and forms online.
- Receive and review correspondence from Social Security and Medicaid.
- Respond to requests for information and proof by providing medical records.
- Appear in person for appointments at our local Social Security office to provide information as requested.
- Maintain client information and files in an organized manner.
Qualifications: - Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
- Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
- Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
- Experience and familiarity with Social Security Disability and Medicaid rules and processes.
