With new business slated for this year , the plant will be busy and eager for your leadership

Poised for growth, our client is seeking a Plant Manager with a strong capital equipment background. As the Plant Manager of the site, you will assess the plant, lead change, improve morale and infuse a positive culture. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:


  • Foster the importance of a safety oriented culture
  • Lead your team by example and coach, mentor and develop direct and indirect reports to exceed their individual and company goals
  • Act as a change agent for the plant with the daily initiative of improving morale and staff engagement
  • Lead plant efforts to ensure customer expectations are met; foster and improve customer communication
  • Be the voice of the plant for all departments, offering regular communication and updates via meetings and communication boards
  • Maximize efficiency by designing and implementing improved manufacturing strategies and allocating assets and resources to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, volume and productivity goals
  • Manage the site P&L and reporting on plant cost operational performance
  • Work with maintenance teams on preventative and predictive maintenance efforts with the goal of decreasing equipment downtime
  • Manage onsite contractors and permits and act as a liaison to corporate engineering team to support all CapEx project timelines and budgets
  • Work with quality and safety on compliance and certifications
  • Partner with product development on feasibility of new products
  • Ensure that key performance indicators are in place and work on monitoring and improving KPIs based on safety, quality, productivity and cost
  • Lead continuous improvement programs
  • Foster and improve local community and business relationships
  • Confirm compliance with all federal, state, local and corporate policies, laws and regulations
  • Other duties as directed by management


The company is seeking a candidate who enjoys spending up to 50% of their time on projects and 50% of their time leading operations. You will spend up to half of your time on the manufacturing floor. Candidates should be able to take ownership of the plant, lead by example, be comfortable being hands-on as needed, coach and mentor their staff and infuse energy and excitement into the daily operations of the facility. The qualified individual will be passionate about developing and leading teams, establishing consistent processes and improving manufacturing processes. REQUIREMENTS for the Plant Manager:

1. A Bachelor's degree is required, ideally in engineering

2. At least 3-5 years of similar manufacturing operations management or engineering management experience

3. Experience working in blending or processing environments, including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemicals, coatings, etc.

4. Experience supervising production and/or engineering

5. Experience assisting with and/or managing capital equipment projects

6. Experience working in a non-union environment

7. Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel


Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. A proven track record of measurable continuous improvements, ideally formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training or certifications

2. Experience working in turnaround situations

3. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports

4. Military background

5. Experience being responsible for budgets, ideally P&L
