*Company information will be shared with qualified candidates. Company is part of a large privately owned company based in the United States. Position is for a plant with ~150 employees.
Manufacturing company located in Brooksville, FL is seeking a Safety Coordinator . The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with extensive EH&S and/or Quality experience. This position reports to the General Manager and will also collaborate with a Regional Safety Manager that is not on site.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of company’s Safety and Health program
- Performs new employee training and onboarding as it relates to the safety program
- Active in monthly plant trainings as well as task specific safety training
- Works alongside Plant Manager and General Manager on environmental compliance
- Participates in company safety committee
- Conducts incident investigations to determine root cause & corrective actions.
- Performs periodic site assessments
- Serves as a safety “coach” and is a resource for all plant employees
Qualifications:
- College degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety will accept practical experience in lieu of degree
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Must have strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer knowledge along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to wear all required PPE (Hard hat, safety glasses, safety footwear, and hearing protection)
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus but not required
