Job Description

A great UHY client is seeking a Temporary Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of non-manufacturing experience, a strong understanding of contract/negotiations, as well as strong analysis, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. PeopleSoft procurement experience would be a plus.


The Temporary Strategic Sourcing Specialist role is a hybrid position, with a 1-2 days each month being in office. This is a temporary, contract position with the potential to turn permanent.



Temporary Strategic Sourcing Specialist Experience:

  • Project planning
  • Identifying, analyzing and resolving moderately complex problems
  • Resolving changes in scope, timing, costs, quality and client satisfaction
  • Supporting and contributing transformational level change within a procurement organization
  • Involved in supporting a highly rationalized and diverse supply base optimized to business needs
  • Supporting strategic sourcing initiatives across a series of spend categories
  • Supplier development and contract negotiation
  • Developing cost/benefit analyses
  • Writing bid proposals with analytical evaluation capability
  • Goal setting, decision making and conflict resolution
  • Willing to travel as required to meet business needs
  • Organizing, monitoring and reporting projects
  • Coordinating support activities provided by multiple off-site suppliers and internal clients
  • Customer care and satisfaction
  • Preferred: In a variety of industry segments
  • Preferred: broad procurement background with strong focus in non-production (indirect) procurement in an individual contributor/leadership capacity


Temporary Strategic Sourcing Specialist Qualifications & Skills:

  • College level coursework in supply chain management or related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor degree and/or professional certifications preferred (e.g., Accredited Purchasing Practitioner, CPM).
  • Communicate effectively
  • Provide competitive solutions in support of business objectives
  • Multitask or perform a variety of concurrent activities
  • Explore alternative approaches/innovations to strategic sourcing and supply chain activities
  • Negotiate and implement supplier contracts
  • Ability to manage supplier performance to ensure optimal results
  • Work under tight schedules and deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to include report/proposal preparation and presentations to middle level management and external contacts
