Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic automation team. This role involves managing and supporting projects through all phases, including design, manufacturing, integration, and installation, ensuring milestones and goals are achieved on time. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for innovative automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to support project execution and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and resolving issues related to project design or processes.
- Contribute to customer and executive reporting, providing clear updates on project progress.
- Take ownership of specific project aspects to support the project team effectively.
- Review and understand mechanical designs using AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians during all phases of the project.
- Document open issues, maintain meeting minutes, and support periodic reporting to stakeholders.
- Assist in debugging, run-offs, installation, training, and startup activities at customer sites.
- Travel to customer sites, both domestically and internationally, as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical or controls engineering, preferably in industrial automation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D design review tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook).
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and sound mechanical design principles.
- Familiarity with automation systems such as Cartesian Gantries, robotic systems, conveyors, and pneumatic/servo pick-and-place devices.
- Experience with automation technologies, including CNC machine integration, fastening, marking, testing, and vision systems.
