Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze blood film slides, identifying blood films and studying blood cells, their numbers, and morphology.
• Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to detect normal and abnormal components.
• Perform blood group, type, and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes.
• Analyze and document test results in the laboratory’s computer system.
• Perform quality control studies to maintain the accuracy and reliability of clinical data.
• Engage in medical research under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning.
• Document repairs, replacements, and maintenance performed on instruments and equipment.
• Train and supervise students in laboratory practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Medical Technology or a related field, with ASCP certification.
• Certified and licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• 2-3 years of experience in clinical laboratory settings, with expertise in hematology.
• 5+ years of comprehensive experience in standard diagnostic procedures.
• Strong ability to identify and interpret blood films.
• Experience in conducting preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments.
