About Our Client:

Addison Group has partnered with a global manufacturing company seeking a skilled Logistics Planner to join their team. This position is responsible for optimizing transportation planning to ensure that freight routes are efficient and cost-effective and work closely with scheduling team.

Job Description:

The Logistics Planner will analyze transportation options, coordinate freight schedules, and communicate with both internal teams and external partners to monitor shipments from release through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and implement the most economical and effective transportation routes and methods for freight using provided systems and tools.
• Schedule and release shipments, informing relevant teams of expected arrival dates and addressing any shipping issues.
• Manage exceptions and prioritize orders as needed to maintain seamless operations.
• Develop cost-effective logistics solutions that uphold the company’s service quality.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in logistics or a related field preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred, not required.
• Proficient in logistics/transportation business terms.
• MS Office and SAP or other CRM.

Additional Details:

• This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
