Senior Research Associate, Cell Biology

The Opportunity
- Perform hands-on cell culture tasks, including cell expansion, freezing, and inventory documentation using an electronic notebook (Benchling), with a focus on improving efficiency and optimizing processes
- Monitor cell growth and viability in culture flasks, dishes, or plates, and perform cell passaging at appropriate intervals to maintain healthy cell populations
- Support urgent and critical requests in the cell culture lab, delivering materials to aid key go/no-go decisions for early discovery programs
- Prepare protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed, while documenting all findings in Benchling
- Collaborate across departments to assess cell line needs and ensure strict adherence to project timelines
- Play a key role in shaping and evolving the team as the organization grows
Required Skills, Experience, and Educatio
- B.S./M.S. degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, or a related life science field, with 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in cell culture (experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
- Strong expertise in aseptic techniques, concurrent maintenance of multiple cell lines, media preparation, mammalian cell culture maintenance, and cell cryopreservatio
- Proven experience in developing and troubleshooting mammalian cell culture systems and creating cell banks for various tissue/cell type
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D organoid culture systems is a plus but not require
- Proficiency in using electronic lab notebooks (such as Benchling) for inventory management, workflow execution, and data retrieval.
