Job Description

Planet Technology is looking for a Workday Trainer for a Healthcare client. The job is contract to perm. A hybrid onsite work schedule is required.


3-6 month contract to perm opportunity

Hybrid Onsite in Los Angeles – 3 days onsite/ 2 days remote


Workday Trainer II

Our client is Healthcare provider in California. They are live on Workday now. They’re in their first year of post implementation and are doing enhancements and system optimization.

They’re looking to add a Workday Trainer Level II to their team. The role is intended to be contract to hire converting to a fulltime employee after 3-6 months.


  • This person is responsible for training end users on the client’s technical/clinical systems and applications, including, but not limited to Workday, Ambulatory Electronic Health Records (EMR), Managed Care Referral System, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Interactive Intelligence (ININ), and other technical systems.
  • This includes the validation, and training of workflows for the client’s staff on new or updated core software products targeting a variety of audiences.
  • Trainers will be responsible for training staff, utilizing standardized training materials.
  • The WT II will also work with the PT on special projects or assignments.
  • This role is responsible for keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum for software upgrades and build.
  • During any clinical system implementation, this position may also be assigned to the project as a primary trainer working under the guidance of the PT and Training Manager.
  • The WT II will take ownership of completing assigned tasks within the implementation project scope.
  • This position will also support end-users in a 1-1 format in the office, the clinic or in other healthcare related environments and assist with Job Aid / Tip Sheet development.
  • The WT II may also be engaged as the lead of designated task force efforts assigned by the Training Manager.
  • Leadership over a task force includes, but is not limited to, managing strategy outline, delegation of work with allotted resources, follow up, setting milestones and goals, project completion, and lessons learned.
  • The role may also be assigned as the rounding lead over a territory of clinics or one clinic for onsite support


Required Skills:

  • Deep background in Workday training
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for effective adult learning, training and coaching
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent customer service for professional interaction with internal and external clients
  • Appropriate interpersonal skills for inter-departmental collaboration and success
  • Knowledge of equipment operation related to a variety of computer/peripheral equipment
  • Analytical techniques to diagnose user problems and offer corrective action and problem solving
  • Ability to present, speak, and write effectively for audiences at all organizational levels
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to take action with regard to available information, constraints, and anticipated risks
  • Ability to retain and teach information in Workday, EHR/HIT application functions and workflows
  • Ability to be cross trained in multiple applications
  • Ability to persuade and influence resistant learners to gain cooperation
  • Ability to innovate using training methodologies and approaches and produce results in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to complete identified tasks and activities with intended outcomes and within expected timeline
  • Ability to appropriately manage and delegate work in project or task force lead scenarios
  • Ability to see junior level projects or task force efforts to successful completion
  • Ability to deliver instruction that promotes a high level of credibility with clinical professionals
  • Existing knowledge of new technologies (in a specific field) and ability to maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.
  • Strong understanding and ability to interpret clinical and non-clinical workflows, processes, and terminology in order to deliver focused instruction
  • Ability to travel to different client locations as needed
