About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Contracts, Counsel to lead our contracting function, with a focus on IT and privacy-related agreements. In this role, you will oversee contract negotiations, manage a team, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance and strategic alignment with company objectives. This is a high-impact position for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the contracts function with a primary focus on IT, SaaS, software licensing, data privacy, cybersecurity, and other technology-related agreements.

Negotiate, draft, and manage complex contracts, including data processing agreements (DPAs), master service agreements (MSAs), vendor agreements, and strategic partnerships.

• Ensure contracts comply with global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and regulatoryrequirements relevant to biotech and life sciences
• Provide strategic legal and business guidance to IT, compliance, procurement, and leadership teams.
• Develop and optimize contract management processes, templates, and playbooks for efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Lead and mentor a team of contract professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Partner with legal, privacy, security, and commercial teams to support business growth and technology initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in contracts management, with a strong focus on IT and privacy contracts.
• Proven leadership and team management experience in a legal function.
• Deep knowledge of SaaS, cloud agreements, cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage high-value, complex agreements.
• Experience working in a biotech, pharma, or life sciences company is highly preferred.
• JD required
