Job Title: Assistant Plant Manager



Location: St. Louis, Missouri



Position Summary: As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring production efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards. You will work closely with the Plant Manager to implement and monitor processes, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Food Manufacturing Industry Experience Required.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing all aspects of production, including processing, packaging, and distribution.
  • Coordinate and supervise plant operations to ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor production schedules, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for production efficiency, waste reduction, and cost control.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that equipment and facilities are properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
  • Develop and train plant staff to enhance their skills and improve overall performance.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational strategies and initiatives to achieve company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, environmental protection, and workplace safety.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the food processing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of dairy production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Working Conditions:


  • This position may require standing for extended periods and working in varying temperatures.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required to meet production demands.
