Optical Systems Engineer

Optical devices R&D physicist/engineer with extensive experiences in lasers, optics, electronics, systems engineering, programming, etc.

Requirements:

• Design, validate, and debug the optics and optical systems in various modules.
• Enhance spectrometer by 2X in sensitivity and resolution.
• Prototype confocal scanning microscope: full system development in both hardware and software.
• Setup, supervise, or support manufacturing activities.

Expertise:

• Lasers: UV to IR, CW to femtosecond pulse. Optics and optical systems. Zemax.
• EE design/test: analog circuits, RF and microwave.
• Programming: Python, Matlab, C. LabView. Data analysis, simulation.
• Other: CAD, fabrication (Harvard Physics Instrument Shop certified), regulatory and standards (laser safety), communication and technical writing skills.

Education:

Ph.D. (preferred) & M.S. in Physics – 4-7 years experience
