Kelly Science is seeking a CLIA General Laboratory Supervisor for a growing client located near North Brunswick, NJ.
Shift: This position will oversee both first and second shift laboratory operations- therefore hours may vary

Summary:
The CLIA General Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the operational oversight of the laboratory and will ensure the optimal operation of the department. This position will ensure all laboratory operations are compliant with CLIA standards.
Job Duties Include:
- Perform various laboratory duties to assist laboratory staff and ensure an efficient workflow.
- Effectively perform laboratory and proficiency testing, report of results in a timely manner, assist with instrumentation maintenance, adhere to all quality assurance policies, and document all quality control activities.
- Oversee the laboratory safety program; develop, implement, and continuously review and update laboratory safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in ensuring regulatory requirements and coordinate laboratory accreditation and licensing processes.
- Negotiate laboratory equipment, reagents/supply and maintenance contracts, research and evaluate alternative products and sources of supply to reduce costs and improve quality of service.
- Monitor performance of staff and conduct introductory and annual evaluations.
- Mentor and train laboratory staff when needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific related field with 1 year of experience within a high complexity CLIA laboratory OR a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field with 2 years of experience within a high complexity CLIA laboratory.
- Experience with ICP-MS and trace metals analysis or LC-MS required.
- Must meet requirements for a CLIA general supervisor
- Strong knowledge of CLIA requirements
- Ability to communicate well, has strong attention to detail and must be a self-starter and be able to work under minimal supervision.
