What your day will look like:
- Provides management with updates on work progress, material availability, and potential production issues to ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Manages customer portals, reviewing forecast and order data, and inputs information into client system to schedule production based on customer demand.
- Coordinates shop floor schedules with cross-functional teams, monitors planned vs. actual hours, and reports performance metrics.
- Analyzes inventory usage, scrap, and waste to identify issues impacting inventory objectives.
- Assists management with over shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and order cancellations, and tracks component shortages.
- Ensures configuration control of open orders and maintains required data files in compliance with division policies.
- Coordinates with Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract teams to ensure smooth material flow and accurate status reporting.
- Recommend improvements to product or process efficiency and cost reduction through continuous improvement practices.
- Keeps professional knowledge current by attending workshops, reviewing industry publications, and engaging with networks and associations.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations, advising management on necessary actions, and adhering to policies in the GPM/CPM.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain preferred
- 3-5 years of experience as a Production Planner or similar position
- 2+ years of administrative experience; ERP knowledge required
- Previous experience interacting with customers or suppliers
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new challenges
