Proposal Writer - Government

Client: Technology Engineering and technical services firm

Duration: 3-6+ month contract - potential to continue to extend

Location: Fairfax, VA

Part Time (10-20 hours per work)

    Job Description:

    Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Government Proposal Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, writing, and editing proposals for government contracts. This role requires a deep understanding of government procurement processes, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and analyze government RFPs (Requests for Proposals) to understand requirements and develop compliant proposals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and insights for proposal content.
    • Write, edit, and format proposals to ensure clarity, compliance, and persuasiveness.
    • Manage proposal schedules and deadlines to ensure timely submission.
    • Maintain a repository of proposal templates and past proposals for future reference.
    • Stay updated on government procurement regulations and industry best practices.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in writing government proposals.
    • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with proposal management software.
    • Knowledge of specific government agencies and their procurement processes.
    • Certification in proposal management (e.g., APMP).
