Manager, Quality & Food Safety required for Global Food & Beverage Firm

A Global Food production firm is looking for a Senior Manager, Manager, Quality & Food Safety to lead the quality & food safety functions across two key sites in the greater Allentown, PA area.

The Manager, Quality & Food Safety will oversee all Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions within the FDA/USDA regulated facility and ensure operations are in line with regulations and standards . The Manager, Quality & Food Safety will be responsible for developing, implementing and upholding operational KPIs, SOPs and best-practices that align with company and industry quality standards.

The ideal Manager, Quality & Food Safety candidate will have the following skill set:

• 8+ years of Quality experience; 5+ years' Leadership in a Food or Beverage production environment

• Audit experience

• FDA, HACCP, USDA & Similar experience

• PCQI experience a plus

• Multi-site experience a plus, but not required

• Strong knowledge of ISO, GMP, HACCP food safety and other industry standards

• Superior analytical skills with an outstanding attention to detail

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Proven ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with local and international counterparts

The Manager, Quality & Food Safety will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and uphold strategic processes to create an autonomous Quality organization to run on a 24/7 schedule

• Maintain USDA relationship, communicate updates, and facilitate audits as necessary

• Rectify customer complaints & quality issues as necessary and conduct root-cause analysis to determine causes and correct as necessary

• Review documentation to ensure compliance

• Ensure GMP, ISO, Quality, and Food Safety standards are upheld

• Provide QA/QC Support across all areas of the plant as necessary

• Resolve customer delivery discrepancies and amend production schedule priorities accordingly

• Develop, implement, and uphold strategic initiatives to ensure long-term goals are met

• Provide both short- and long-term Quality plans to appropriate parties to be used for capacity analysis

• Take a proactive approach to managing and reporting safety and quality standards in the plant

• Maintain a comprehensive quality system and strategy related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in compliance with regulatory standards

• Validate quality measurement accuracy to create recurring results

• Establish, implement, and uphold department-wide SOPs & KPIs to foster a superior quality continuous improvement mentality

• Design, develop, and execute quality and safety instructions across the plant

• Prepare SOPs for the department to guarantee compliance with industry regulations and standards
