JOB TITLE : Sr. Designer, FF&E


SUPERVISOR : Director of Design 


JOB TYPE : Full-Time, Hybrid 


Position Overview : The Sr. Designer, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), is responsible for the design, selection, and management of all furniture, lighting, and fabric elements for the firm’s projects. This role involves ensuring that all selected pieces align with the overall design vision, meet the functional and aesthetic needs of the client, and are seamlessly integrated from concept to installation. The Sr. Designer will collaborate closely with the Technical and Procurement Teams to ensure that every aspect of the FF&E process is meticulously executed.


Key Responsibilities:

Design & Selections:

  • Lead the design and selection process for furniture, lighting, and fabrics, ensuring alignment with the project’s design vision and client needs.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Team to develop furniture layouts, customizations, and detailed design elements.
  • Ensure all selections meet both functional and aesthetic requirements, providing solutions that enhance the overall project design.
  • Prepare comprehensive presentations related to FF&E, lighting, window treatments, rugs, and accessories.
  • Organize all items in a schedule format for handoff to the Procurement Department for purchasing and the Technical Department for detailed drawings.


Vendor Management:

  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with vendors for furniture, lighting, and drapery.
  • Review customizations, design details, and finishes during the production process, coordinating the creation of prototypes as needed.
  • Ensure that all final products meet the designer’s vision and client expectations, making necessary adjustments during production.

Installation:

  • Oversee the on-site installation of all furniture and custom items, ensuring placement aligns with the design plan.
  • Collaborate with the styling team to finalize the project, ensuring it is ready for client move-in.
  • Conduct a final review of the installation to confirm that all elements meet client expectations and project specifications.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in FF&E design, preferably within high-end residential or boutique projects.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Studio Design.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience leading a team and working collaboratively. 
  • Ability to travel to project sites and vendors as needed.
  • Capable of assisting with the physical aspects of on-site installations.
