Job Title: Document Review Attorney

Location: New York City, NY

Employment Type: 4-Month Contract, Immediate Start


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Document Review Attorney for a 4-month contract position in New York City . The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working on commercial document review projects . This is an immediate start position, requiring the successful candidate to join our team and assist with time-sensitive document review tasks for the duration of the contract.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive and efficient document reviews for commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and other commercial matters.
  • Review large volumes of documents for relevance, privilege, and confidentiality in a commercial context.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and procedural guidelines specific to commercial matters.
  • Analyze complex commercial documents and make decisions based on client-specific instructions and legal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the document review process is timely and accurate.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, including issues encountered and resolutions.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and summaries related to document review findings.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial document review (including mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracts, and related matters).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state (preferably New York).
  • Strong knowledge of commercial law concepts and document review processes.
  • Familiarity with review platforms such as Relativity, Logikcull, or other e-discovery tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to start immediately and work full-time for the 4-month duration .


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with large-scale commercial transactions or contract reviews.
  • Prior experience managing or supervising document review teams is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines.
