Job Description

My client is looking for a senior level ML/LLM researcher to join their team. They help engineering teams cost effectively fine-tune and serve small open-source LLMs on sota infrastructure.


We are seeking a highly skilled Lead ML/LLM Researcher to spearhead our core research initiatives focused on machine learning algorithms and optimization. In this role, you will engage in hands-on development of our training and inference stack while guiding a team of talented ML professionals to enhance our LLM fine-tuning and serving platform.


The ideal candidate will have previous publications or experience related to novel LLM fine-tuning techniques, not just using the currently available sota methods.


Responsabilities:


Research & Development:

  • Investigate and integrate new fine-tuning techniques into the core LLM platform.
  • Optimize inference processes using advanced quantization and compression methods.
  • Develop high-performance modeling code in C++ or CUDA as needed.


Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead and mentor a team of machine learning contributors.
  • Define and set new research objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate with the founding team to shape the product roadmap and technical vision.


Collaboration:

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to implement research findings.
  • Ensure seamless integration of research advancements into production systems.


Qualifications:


Education:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in machine learning algorithms and LLMs.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and CUDA.
  • Experience with model fine-tuning, quantization, and compression techniques.


Experience:

  • Proven track record in ML/LLM research and development investigating novel fine-tuning techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Experience in defining and executing research strategies.
