Job Description

Our client is a global, family-owned company serving customers in the oil and gas industry. They produce and distribute safety-relevant products, systems and services and employ around 30,000 employees at around 100 locations in approximately 30 countries offering first-class manufacturing and sales competence.


They are currently seeking a Tooling Manager to lead the facility supervisors and technicians.


Job Responsibilities

• Tool Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and manage the repair and maintenance of all tooling incl. the workshop equipment to minimize mill downtimes for tooling issues.

• Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with tooling vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality tools and keeping working capital low.

• Cost Management: Implement cost-saving measures and strategies to reduce tooling expenses without compromising quality.

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of technicians in a workshop environment, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all tooling operations comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety training and audits.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and tooling improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of tooling inventory, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare regular reports on tooling performance and costs.


Job Requirements


• Education: Technical Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

• Experience: 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

• Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP R/3.

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of material science of steel, bearing assembly and machining operations.

• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
