Position Overview

Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a prestigious law firm to find an experienced Legal Administrative Manager to support three of their office locations. This key role is based in Denver and involves overseeing the day-to-day management of a 20+ member secretarial support team, including Legal Administrative Assistants, Legal Executive Assistants, and Administrative Coordinators. This position offers a dynamic and exciting opportunity to contribute to the firm's continued success by implementing innovative strategies and practices.

Responsibilities

Operations:

  • Maintain an in-office work schedule and manage overtime as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for the Secretarial Team from Monday to Friday, including weekends when necessary.
  • Oversee attorney/secretary assignments, including reassignments and new hires.
  • Coordinate back-up assignments for absences and schedule additional support as needed.
  • Review and approve timecards, confirming time off and overtime.
  • Manage vacation and personal leave requests and assign desk coverage appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Directors of Administration.

Staff:

  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with secretarial staff through daily engagement.
  • Recruit and onboard new team members, managing all aspects of the hiring process.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage employee relations, coaching, and documentation.
  • Coordinate orientation schedules and assign peer mentors to new hires.
  • Identify and implement training and development programs for the department.
  • Lead quarterly team meetings and coordinate social events and team participation in office functions.

Budget and Expenses:

  • Prepare and manage the department's annual budget, reporting on variances.
  • Approve expenses and manage non-client related overtime for the Secretarial Team.
  • Seek and suggest value engineering opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience in a law firm setting.
  • Prior experience conducting performance evaluations, handling employee relations issues, and training/onboarding new hires.
  • A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Equivalent experience is also accepted.
  • Must CURRENTLY reside in the Denver metropolitan area. Out of state applicants will not be considered.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an impartial management style.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems independently.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Calm and effective under pressure, with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
  • Ability to build and maintain team morale and create a sense of community.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The annual compensation range for this position is $120-140k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
