Your Role…

As a Geologist/Environmental Scientist at ChemTrack Alaska, your day is a mix of hands-on fieldwork and technical problem-solving. You might start in the Anchorage office, preparing Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) and coordinating with the field team to ensure everything is ready for an upcoming investigation. Once on-site, you will lead sampling campaigns for soil, groundwater, and other media, ensuring compliance with ADEC regulations and project standards.

You will analyze data, troubleshoot challenges, and oversee the proper implementation of work plans, collaborating with your team to achieve project goals. Back in the office, you will draft technical reports, interpret analytical results, and provide guidance on environmental compliance. Whether you’re managing permits, mentoring staff, or working on proposals, your role is crucial to delivering high-quality solutions for clients.

Expect a dynamic work environment that includes travel across Alaska, occasional overtime, and opportunities to lead innovative projects. Bring your technical expertise, adaptability, and sense of adventure to a role where no two days are alike, and your contributions make a lasting impact on Alaska’s environment.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations, including ADEC 18 AAC 75 and 78, and the ADEC Field Sampling Guidance Manual.
  • Field Experience: Alaska-based experience in soil classification, groundwater sampling, well installation, and contaminated site work.
  • Certifications: ADEC Qualified Environmental Professional (18 AAC 75.333), HAZWOPER 40-hour certification with 8-hour refreshers, and DOT/IATA hazardous materials training.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to oversee field teams, coordinate investigations, and manage environmental projects from start to finish.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in creating and reviewing Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and technical reports.
  • Adaptability and Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel within Alaska, work in remote environments, and manage the physical demands of fieldwork.
