We are seeking a dynamic and diligent individual to join our team as a Sr. Cost Analyst. In this role, you will be an integral part of our financial planning team, working to analyze and optimize costs in our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the standard costing process, reconciling inventory accounts, and producing margin reports. This role also involves analyzing product design and raw materials, conducting account analysis, and comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain the standard costing process, ensuring accurate and timely cost information.
2. Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
3. Prepare margin reports, providing insights into profitability and identifying areas for improvement.
4. Analyze product design and raw materials, assessing cost efficiency and suggesting modifications as necessary.
5. Conduct account analysis, providing detailed insights into cost trends and variances.
6. Compare standard costs to actual production costs, identifying and analyzing any variances.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost-saving strategies and initiatives.
8. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing accurate cost information.
9. Prepare and present cost reports to senior management, providing recommendations as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in cost accounting or a related role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of standard costing processes, inventory reconciliation, and margin reporting.
4. Proficiency in analyzing product design and raw materials for cost efficiency.
5. Experience in account analysis and comparison of standard costs to actual production costs.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify cost trends and variances.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex cost information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
9. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
10. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve cost-saving goals.
