About This Role

The team at Thrivos is looking for a Product Manager to drive product initiatives from inception through execution. The Product Manager should be ready to develop a differentiated and unique business that will win with consumers. We are looking for a self-starter that understands the product development process from beginning to end, is extremely detailed and who understands the Credit Card space from processor, to network to bank partnership to customer. This role focuses on many steps in the credit card lifecycle such as customer needs evaluation, product cost estimation, designing product schedules, creating product backlogs, and coordinating with all product stakeholders. This is a critical role and will drive the product for the company through expertise and elbow grease. This candidate should be obsessed with understanding the market, our competitors, optimization of the customer experience, anticipating market dynamics, the nitty-gritty of consumer behavior, and know how to make ‘1+1=3’ work. 

Core Responsibilities

• Be responsible for owning, driving, and completing various initiatives from start to finish.
• Define and drive the execution of our product roadmap and assist with the creation of our backlog
• Create and maintain the team’s roadmap, milestones, and dependencies with strategic priorities in mind
• Define features, write product specifications, facilitate user studies, iterate on feedback, help write test plans with QA, manage the backlog, and ultimately ship products/features in a timely manner
• Interview and interact with customers to build empathy, ensuring that their needs are met
• Prioritize initiatives and projects appropriately and weigh tradeoffs that must be made
• Perform market research and analysis
• Represent the team in communication with cross-functional teams
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure successful delivery.
• Track and report on progress of features and product performance with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Be a key part of an inclusive environment that fosters collaboration and creativity.

Requirements

• 4+ years of product management experience on technical products/solutions; 7+ years of total related experience (higher education may be considered)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Technical knowledge to understand API documentations
• Experience working in-house for a Financial Services or FinTech project
• Waterfall or Agile process experience with an ability to find and help implement what works best for us
• Ability to understand and represent the technology, the business, and our users
• Self-starter, organized and detail oriented with strong communication skills
• Software development experience or hobbyist
• Enjoyment for working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment

Nice to have

• Having started or worked on a credit card platform
• Worked in underbanked or underserved industry in past
• Understand the online credit card business
• Experience with documentation platforms such as Confluence or Jira
• Experience with Miro, Lucid or Visio
• Experience working with a distributed development team across time zones
• Advanced degree (Masters, MBA)
