Position Overview:
Private Equity firm with over $40bn AUM is seeking an Investor Relations Associate to join the team in San Francisco, CA.
The position will require close collaboration with multiple other internal departments, including Finance, Legal/Compliance, and Investments, and perform various support roles in the areas of investor relations, reporting, and fund raising.
The role is pre-MBA two-year program and open to extending for top performers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee project management of ongoing reporting materials (including quarterly and annual reports) and investor reporting and data analysis requests
- Coordinate with other functional groups of the Firm (primarily Finance and Legal) to respond to LP requests/questions and reporting requirements in a timely manner
- Manage standard investor materials, such as investor, Advisory Board, and annual meeting presentations
- Support fundraising/co-invest efforts– maintain LP tracking, develop fundraising materials, complete diligence requests, manage dataroom
- Assist with event planning and logistics for Advisory Board and annual meetings
- Prepare briefing materials for investor meetings and conduct investor targeting exercises
- Stay abreast of industry news and market research
- Maintain various databases with detailed LP, fundraising, fund, and portfolio-level statistics
- Perform analyses of fund performance, benchmarks, projections, and other statistics
- Manage Salesforce-based CRM platform, firm website, LinkedIn, and other public relations channels
- Support Capital Formation group with other materials, research, and reporting as needed
- Work with team to effectively communicate investment strategies, investments, portfolio company and firm activity to current and prospective LPs
- Role is expected to be primarily focused on private equity, data infrastructure, and firm related matters such as public relations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, placement agent, or other related field (pre-MBA)
- General understanding of private equity and as an asset class, the financial markets, economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Able to create executive-level reporting including written summaries and data visualization
- Familiarity with financial statements required
- Self-starter with strong project management and follow-through skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently, while managing tight deadlines
- Excellent technical skills utilizing MS Office products(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Acute attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong work ethic and analytical skills
- Comfort with organizing and interpreting large amounts of data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate well with a variety of individuals, both internally and externally across levels
- The position is based in San Francisco, CA
