We are seeking a hands-on Finance   Director  to lead and manage the financial operations of  our 17-year-old company and its 5-year-old sister startup. This hybrid role, based in New York, is ideal for a proactive leader who is not only adept at strategy but also willing to “roll up their sleeves” and handle the nuts and bolts of  the finance  department.

This position is critical to ensuring the highest standards of  financial management across both organizations. You will oversee financial controls, accounting operations, and strategic planning while collaborating closely with teams across the businesses. The role of fers the unique opportunity to contribute to two dynamic organizations, expanding your expertise in P&L management, operations, forecasting, and accounting.

Compensation is competitive and depends on experience, including a combination of  salary, performance-based bonuses, and equity options.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and actively manage the financial operations of  both the parent company and its startup sister company.
• Lead and execute all month-end processes, including journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, and inter-company transactions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards for forecasting, accounting, and transaction recording.
• Work closely with teams from both companies, including advertising sales, to deliver actionable reporting, analysis, and operational support.
• Develop, revise, and enforce accounting controls while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Establish and implement accounting and of fice procedures that enhance efficiency and operational excellence.
• Oversee and process payroll for both organizations.
• Manage tax preparation and filings for all companies.
• Lead and participate in month-end close processes and reforecasting operations.
• Coordinate internal audit activities, provide full support, and implement recommendations.
• Manage cash flow, vendor relationships, and invoice payments for both companies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance , or a related field.
• At least 5 years of  progressively responsible accounting/finance  roles, including management experience.
• Hands-on approach to managing financial operations and solving problems.
• Prior experience in media, e-commerce, and/or technology industries, ideally from startups or established companies like Netflix, Amazon, NBC, YouTube, Hulu, or similar organizations, is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with financial and business systems, including Microsoft Of fice Suite (especially Excel), Google Workspace, and QuickBooks.
• Expertise in Excel, with advanced capabilities such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage financial operations across multiple entities in a fast-paced environment.
