Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to join our organization in Downers Grove, Illinois. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing our financial operations, enhancing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This leadership position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departments, and a proven track record of effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and implement financial strategies, forecasts, and budgets to support organizational goals. Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to guide decision-making processes.

- Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and oversee all related financial reporting.

- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability. Implement strategies to optimize cash reserves and mitigate risks.

- Cost Management: Analyze and manage operating costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement efficient financial processes and controls.

- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of performance and accountability. Establish training programs to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to align financial strategies with organizational objectives. Prepare and present financial reports and strategic recommendations to the board of directors.

- Policy Development: Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of the organization’s financial systems. Ensure adherence to internal controls and risk management practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (CPA, CMA) is preferred.

- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or director capacity.

- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting practices, and regulatory frameworks.

- Proven ability to develop financial strategies that align with overall business goals.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
