GNC Software Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite, 5 days per week)
About the Role
We’re looking for a GNC Software Engineer to work on challenging problems in orbital mechanics, implement and validate mission-critical GNC algorithms, and help shape the future of autonomous space operations. This role is heavily software-focused.
What You’ll Work On
- Building software solutions for mission planning, optimizing satellite operations.
- Developing algorithms related to orbital dynamics, quaternions, and TLE-based propagation.
- Processing and evaluating data from TLEs, GPS, EO satellites, and other sources.
- Determining the most accurate and reliable datasets for satellite pointing.
What We’re Looking For
Mathematical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of orbital dynamics, interpolation, quaternions, and pointing calculations.
Software Skills:
- Python required
- Experience with Astropy, Orekit, or similar tools is a plus.
Imagery Experience:
- Experience working with satellite pointing, imaging calculations, and mission planning.
