Job Description

A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a new CT Technologist to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately interpret and follow physician orders, maintaining clarity and adhering to best practices
  • Clearly explain procedures, contrast media, and any medications to patients, ensuring understanding and comfort
  • Review patient history and CT safety assessments for a safe and high-quality imaging experience
  • Position patients correctly and perform CT scans according to physician specifications
  • Communicate with patients throughout the procedure to ensure comfort and minimize anxiety
  • Prepare and administer contrast, insert IV catheters, and operate injectors as per protocol
  • Evaluate scan images for quality, ensuring they are accurately labeled and documented
  • Clean, maintain, and operate CT equipment; collaborate with specialists as necessary
  • Assist in training and educating clinical staff
  • Work closely with radiologists to develop and refine protocols and imaging techniques
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Active ARRT certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Proven experience as an CT Technologist with a solid understanding of CT imaging principles and protocols
  • Experience with PACS systems and CT equipment
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, biology, and chemistry; ability to administer IVs
  • Strong knowledge of CT safety protocols, including magnet safety and contrast administration
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and the care team
  • Organizational and mathematical skills for managing supplies, contrast, and inventory
  • Strong problem-solving and observational skills for troubleshooting equipment and ensuring image quality
  • Proficiency with CT equipment, G-suite, and health information systems

Desired Skills:

  • Whole Body CT experience
  • Working knowledge of AMBRA and Siemens preferred
